What’s great about sledding at the old Hanover Golf Course, is the variety. There are many steep, thrilling downhills for the adventurous, and gentle slopes for young children and families. When Occom Pond freezes, pair sledding at the golf course with ice skating, followed by a cup of hot cocoa, for a complete afternoon of wintertime fun!

Mega Hill at Enfield Shaker Village

There’s no tow here, but you can climb the 300-foot hill and enjoy views of Mascoma Lake, while careening down the 1800-foot run of the enormous hill beside La Salette Shrine in Enfield.

The old Slopes of Mount Tom

Once a bustling ski hill in the 1950s through 1980s, the remaining slopes of Mt. Tom, located north of Billings Farm and Museum, offer great morning or afternoon of sledding. The slope leads down to the backside of Rainbow Preschool, and offers a wide, 500-foot vertical drop.

Ascutney Outdoors Center

If you’re ready for a longer sledding run, make the 30 minute drive to Mt. Ascutney, which offers thrilling and stunning views along its slopes. The dedicated tubing park has a 500-foot lift and a large, groomed slope.
